If you see a SHOP t-shirt or slide show that says, "SHOP... a potentially fatal youth group" the above verse explains why. Our prayer is that the youth find a life with Jesus Christ and walk it! So what is going on over there at the SHOP Youth Center? Well we are in full swing at the new location and just celebrated our grand opening with the Christian recording artist Paul Wright. At another time we will be hosting a 'come see SHOP in action' party. This will be an opportunity for the entire congregation to visit and see what the youth of the church are up to.
This summer SHOP will meet on Sunday evenings instead of Wednesdays. This makes room for a new youth ministry known as Reliance Skim boarding School. Skim boarding is a popular beach sport that is fun for all ages. At the skim boarding (skim) school we will teach kids of all ages how to 'skim' while showing them the love of Christ. This will be an excellent opportunity for the youth to serve Christ in a very fun way. Our prayer is that this ministry will then funnel more youth into SHOP where they can learn more about Christ. Our prayers continue with those kids telling their parents how their lives are being changed and then those parents coming to New Covenant! Once September arrives SHOP will return to meeting Wednesday. High school aged youth will also meet on Sundays after church for fellowship and an in depth Bible study. So there you have it, the whole plan. Please pray for the strength and growth of SHOP.
